Taking It One Day At A Time

October 2021
For the rest of the month I try to take each day as it comes and to remain positive.
We carry on full steam with wedding plans.
October also sees me undergo 2 rounds of Chemotherapy. 2nd round goes ok, The medication for the hiccups seems to work and keeps the hiccups at bay. I start to develop neuropathy in my finger tips this time, Not too bad just a slight tingling sensation, The Oncologist arranges for a vitamin B tablet to be available for my 3rd round, After the 3rd round the hiccups medication has definitely worked and I hardly get any hiccups, I carry on taking the medication 3 times a day to prevent it. The neuropathy after the 3rd round is much worse in my finger tips and also start to feel it in my toes. My finger tips start cracking and they become sore.

I also carry on with the counselling sessions once a week, 2nd session goes ok but the rest of the sessions don't go that well, They seem awkward and I'm not learning any techniques for coping.
My own positive attitude & focusing on family seem to serve me better. I carry on reading quite regularly as it's something I enjoy. The counsellor recommends reading a book called Mind Over Mood.
I mention this to Michelle and she recommends Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor E Frankl.
It's a very good read and I find it helpful to be positive and to focus on things that benefit me from now on, Viktor E Frankl's work is known as Logotherapy and I'm interested in further reading some text books of how to apply it my current situation.
